Join us for STEEP's 7th Annual Conference Creating fun, free and fabulous learning!


Join us for an inspiring day focussing on the provision of high quality early childhood education based on current research and principled practice in today’s climate of uncertainty and austerity.

With keynote speakers Pete Moorhouse, Caroline Eaton and Professor Jan White.

Exhibitors will include Work and Play Scrapstore, Cosy, My Recycled Classroom and Early Education.

Pete Moorhouse
Keynote Speaker

Pete is an Artist Educator and Early Years Consultant. As an artist he is a professional sculptor undertaking prestigious commissions and public art projects throughout the UK and overseas. Pete has also worked in educational settings for over 20 years and is passionate about encouraging children’s creativity and critical thinking.

Caroline Eaton
Keynote Speaker

Caroline’s career in Early Years Education has spanned over 20 years. She has worked in a wide range of roles including class teaching, bi-lingual support, parent partnership and consultancy. Her pedagogical approach is child-centred and keeping children’s interests and motivations at the forefront of any developments.

Professor Jan White
Keynote Speaker

Working across the UK and internationally, Jan is a leading thinker and writer on outdoor play, advocate for high quality outdoor provision for services for children from birth to seven and founder/strategic director of Early Childhood Outdoors, the National Centre for Play, Learning and Wellbeing Outdoors. With over thirty years’ experience in education, including working with Learning through Landscapes and Early Excellence to develop national support for early years’ outdoor provision, and as an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam and Birmingham City Universities (CREC), she has developed a deep commitment to the consistently powerful effect of the outdoors on young children.


An inspiration for all Heads, Deputies, Teachers, Nursery Nurses, Teaching Assistants, Early Years Assistants, Early Years Practitioners, Local Authority School Improvement Teams, Childminders anyone working with children and families.

By purchasing this ticket online I agree to the following terms and conditions:

Privacy: We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in our Privacy Policy. Please be advised that your name and company/organisation (not contact details) will be shared with the event organisers including the six STEEP founding Maintained Nursery Schools prior to the event.

Payment: Payments are made on-line in advance of the event taking place. You may attend the event without having booked and paid for the place you may be turned away from the event. It may be possible to make an online payment on arrival at the event to gain entry where places are available, but this facility cannot be guaranteed.

Timekeeping: Prompt time keeping is essential in ensuring a professional learning environment. Late-comers may be refused admission to the event where entry may be detrimental to the learning of others.

Cancellation: If you are no longer able to attend the course, please notify us by email, giving us at least 7 days notice. If you fail to do this your full event fee will be retained. In the event the organiser has to cancel or reschedule the event, your booking will be transferred to the next available date or a full refund provided.

Refund policy: Refunds will only be given if the attendee gives 7 days notice of non-attendance. After this time no refunds will be given.
