Throughout their lifetimes, the sisters Rachel and Margaret McMillan worked tirelessly to establish a philosophy of open air nursery education. A philosophy that continues to
influence practice in the EFYS today. For over 100 years the Rachel McMillan Nursery School has championed the needs of children, particularly those in deprived areas.

What is the course about?

This 2 hour explore session is designed to give practitioners an insight into the organisation and day to day working practice of Rachel McMillan Nursery School.

The session will include how the school functions on a day-to-day basis, the ethos, systems and structures underpinning practice in the school and what this looks likes for children, families and staff.

Practitioners, NQTs, those new to the EYFS, and those interested in getting a taste of Rachel McMillan Nursery School in action. Suitable for those who are working in the Early Years Foundation Stage in schools, nursery schools, private voluntary and independent settings, including childminders.
