Induction for new governors
Everyone who becomes a governor for the first time or would like to refresh their understanding should attend an induction session to obtain an insight into what being a governor involves, the roles and responsibilities of governors, the support available and how to become an effective member of the governing board. This all day session will focus on the three core strategic functions of the governing board:
Trainer: George Kwasniewski, National Leader of Governance
- ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- holding the head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
Light sandwich lunch provided.
There is no charge for governors from schools that subscribe to the Governors Central Training SLA or the Support and Training SLA for schools with independent clerks. A charge of £230 applies to governors from non-subscribing schools.
